Pidgin is an email client operated by Abdullah. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit this website or connect an email account.
Information Pidgin accesses
Depending on the permissions you authorize and features you use, Pidgin may access your email address and account profile, messages and their metadata, attachments, folders or labels, and authorization credentials used to maintain your connection. The authorization screen from your email provider describes the permissions requested.
How information is used
Account information and email data are used to provide the email functionality you request, such as displaying, sending, and organizing messages, maintaining your connection, and resolving service problems. Pidgin does not sell email data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Storage and retention
Account information, authorization credentials, and any cached email data are retained only as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. Disconnecting an account stops future authorized access once the connection is revoked; it does not delete messages held by your email provider. To request deletion of information held by Pidgin, contact pidgin@abdullahs.ca. Any information that must be retained for legal or security reasons is limited to that purpose.
Sharing and service providers
Information is exchanged with your email provider to perform the actions you request. Service providers supporting hosting and operation may process information only as needed to provide those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse, or security incidents. Email content is not shared with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
Google user data
Pidgin’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Website information and security
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect this website. These pages do not use advertising or analytics scripts or set application cookies. This website uses HTTPS; no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You can stop using Pidgin and revoke access in your Google Account or your Microsoft account’s application permissions. Contact pidgin@abdullahs.ca with questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information held by Pidgin.
Policy changes
Updates will be posted here with a revised date. Material changes to how connected account data is used will be disclosed before the new use, with additional consent where required.
